December-March Gallery

updated 11/01/05

The holidays were full of mini-travels and family gatherings. Christen was home from Washington D.C. and was able to spend almost three weeks. Probably the last extended trip home for quite some time since she had just started a new job. Carol was on semester break from college; A rare alignment of leave times. If you want to know more of our travels, see: Nations Christmas Tree, Yosemite, and Wonder Valley.

Carols Venice Room

Carol's time in Europe last year has definitely influenced her room. The walls now represent Venice at 4:00 PM. Hmmm.

Birthday Girl

Carol and Christen mug for a picture on Christen's December birthday.

Puzzled

12-23 Liviu & Desiree Amariei and Tom Stoeckel work on a Pop's Town puzzle on the dining room table.

Camp Curry

1-1 It snowed the whole day the whole day before and the day of our visit to Yosemite. Hwy 41 was closed so we entered through Mariposa, Hwy 140. It slurpy and sloppy... I.E. beautiful.

A Winter Walk

The family walks on ahead to clear the trail for me.

The Gift Shoppers

Judy and the girls visit the gift shop at the Awahnee Hotel.

The Great Hall

Awahnee Hotel: View from mezzanine of the great hall on New Year's Day.

Walk-in Fireplace

One of the three huge fireplaces in the Great Hall of the Awahnee.

Tough Brake

On our trip home, just below Oakhurst there was a loud bang and the car began fishtailing, as if a rear tire had blown out. The next day after being towed to Fresno it was found that a lock nut had come loose and plowed between the brake shoe and the drum, locking up one of the rear wheels.

Kings River View

1-3 Christen wanted to visit Wonder Valley so on our way we stopped to visit the Kings River as it passes through Scott's Valley.

Wonder Valley View

Christen had a favorite hill that we climbed to get a view of the valley.

Judy, Emily and Christen

This was emphatically a chamber-of-commerce day. Thousand mile visibility with puffy clouds drifting by with snow-capped Sierras in the background.

Christen

Christen poses from the inside of an Oak tree.

Moonrise at Wonder Valley

Another nice shot. I'm facing East with the sun sinking in the West.

Jeff and Christen

Facing full into the sun, father and daughter pose.

Carolyn & Judy

The ladies get all dressed up for an evening dining out.

Marie Faudi's 95th Birthday

Judy and I participated in a quiet dinner celebration of Marie's 95th birthday at the Airport Holiday Inn. Marie worked as the Musick Mt lookout during my time with the forest service in the mid 60's.

Barney

Dad fell on the way to his mobile home, got a concussion and a few broken ribs. Shown here, recovering at Oakdale Heights, he appears (and is) just as zany as ever.

Las Vegas Tower

Newest ride at the Tower Xscream; A cantilevered, pneumatically operated ice cream scoop-looking ride. People are strapped to the end of the thing and dangled out over the side. Arrrugh! If you look closely you can probably see people losing their lunch.

Software Demo

I built a new software product for Tannoy that was displayed with some interest at their booth during the recent NSCA show in Las Vegas.

Foiled Again

Carol makes her point during her fencing class at CSU Fresno
