Beringer Mansion

During our stay at Yountville we took a day and traveled north to the town of St Helena. We arrived during the mustard flower celebration and were inundated. I stopped to take this picture at the Beringer Winery.

Yountville Cemetery

Up the hill from the veterans home is a cemetery for veterans dating back to the indian wars in the 1850s.

Rio Vista, CA

Our journey on Hwy 12 passed the Western Railroad museum and crossed this huge drawbridge over the Sacramento River delta at Rio Vista. Backroads are more fun.

Stockton, CA

On our way home we stopped in Stockton to see ocean-going vessels that come to this inland port. Because of security there is no access and we visited downtown instead.

Dinner at Holdens

Ken and Gwenn Holden hosted dinner for DH and Lavon Mapson and Judy and I. The steak was delicious.

After waiting for the sun to drop below a bank of clouds in the West, I was able to catch this picture with the oak tree and Pine Flat Dam lit up against the dark sky.
